Les droits de l’homme nous ont été transmis sous la forme de Déclarations. Malgré l’immense popularité du thème, l’histoire des Déclarations n’a pas été faite. Produites dans des circonstances variées, à l’occasion d’événements politiques majeurs : indépendances, révolutions ou guerres, les Déclarations des droits répondirent à chaque fois à des situations singulières. Elles furent le fruit des expériences collectives qui entourèrent la formation des États-nations mais inspirèrent aussi les formes juridiques de supranationalité dont le XXe siècle s’est doté en abondance. Les Déclarations des droits de l’homme ne sont pas des textes d’auteurs et leurs attributions obéirent souvent à des mises en scène tardives. À la question : qui a rédigé la Déclaration universelle des droits de l’homme de 1948, Christine Fauré apporte une réponse nuancée en prise directe avec le contexte politique de l’époque, textes à l’appui. Date de première édition : 1997.
